Staff Accountant – Morris County, NJ

About the Role
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing core financial functions, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting internal financial operations. This position offers exposure to complex financial work, including high-volume reconciliations and trust account management, while working closely with leadership and operational staff.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct account research and analysis to support internal financial decisions

Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, including capital and trust account reports

Manage bank reconciliations with a high volume of transactions
Support year-end financial reviews, retirement plan audits, and other compliance activities -
Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly and quarterly closing procedures

Collaborate with attorneys, managers, and administrative staff to resolve financial discrepancies and support operational efficiency
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

Two to three years of accounting experience, ideally in a professional services or law firm environment

Strong reconciliation skills and a meticulous attention to detail

Proficiency with accounting systems; experience with SurePoint is a plus

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
