Applying for a Job With Friday Services
Is there a fee to get a job through Friday Services?
No. Friday Services has never charged our employees any fees to be registered with us. You will be paid the agreed upon full hourly rate that will be set at the time you are placed in a position. Also, we do not charge employees for drug screening or background checks (as some other staffing agencies do).
What information do I need to provide in the job application?
Work History
For each job you have held over the past seven years, be prepared to share with us:
- Employers’ names
- A list of your job duties (work experience)
- A list of all job titles you’ve held
- Employer addresses (or city and state)
- Contact phone numbers
- All previous Supervisors’ names
- Pay rates
- Start dates and end dates (if you are no longer employed there)
Education Information
- The names of all technical schools, training programs, colleges or universities you have attended
- Any degrees or certifications you have earned
- Graduation dates
References
Bring contact information for any professional or personal references you want us to consider. Co-workers, teachers, volunteer supervisors, and coaches all make excellent references.
What if I don’t have a resume?
You are not required to have a resume to apply for a job with Friday Services. Our online job application will ask for your work history so we can get a sense of your skillset and background.
If you are a recent high school graduate with no job experience, you may still be eligible for a job with Friday Services. Some positions are entry level and do not require experience. Positive personal references, preferably from someone who is not in your family. Coaches, teachers, school administrators, volunteer coordinators, and other types of mentors make excellent references.
Will I need to take any tests during the application process?
Yes. Candidates are required to take skills tests that will vary based on the position you are applying for. If you are applying for a manufacturing job you will often be required to take a basic math test. If you are applying for an office job, you will be required to take tests that are specific to clerical positions including grammar, typing, ten-key, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word software. These are only examples, other tests may be required of you at the time of application.
Can I get a full-time job placement through Friday’s?
Yes! Many of the positions we place workers in are “temporary to full time” positions that have the potential to turn into a long-term job offer. Some of our clients work with our staffing agency to try out candidates before hiring them internally. We cannot guarantee that you will get a full-time job placement through Friday Services, but it is definitely a possibility. If we hire you and a client company offers you a full-time job while you are on assignment, notify us and will will work with you and the client to make that transition smooth for everyone.
Working with Friday Services After You’ve Been Hired
How will I get paid?
We pay on a weekly basis by direct deposit. Your pay will be automatically deposited in your designated account by Thursday. The direct deposit for hours worked between Monday through Sunday, will be paid by the end of the business day on the following Thursday.
How do I keep track of my hours?
Hour tracking may vary from employer to employer. Some employers use a badge system, which you will swipe at the start and end of your shift to clock in and out. Others prefer that you keep track of your own hours using a paper time log. Direct deposit should go through by end of the business day on Thursday.
How do I submit my hours?
Your Friday Services Representative will explain how to submit your hours at the start of your assignment, depending on where you work you may:
- Deliver your time card to our office
- Mail, fax, or email your time card
- Use a swipe badge
- Have your hours submitted by your supervisor
Once I am registered, how do I let Friday Services know I am available to work if I’m waiting on an assignment?
All active Friday Services workers that are waiting on an assignment must contact the Friday Services availability voicemail or webcenter at least once a day between 8AM and 5PM on three separate days each week to let us know you are available for work. Assignments are arranged by phone so please make sure that we can reach you.
Benefits Questions
Does Friday Services offer insurance to employees?
Yes, employees are eligible for affordable medical and life insurance plans and other benefits through Friday Services. Optional dental and vision coverage are also available for employees and their families. Insurance premiums can be automatically deducted from your pay. Ask your Friday Services representative for more information.
Do you offer holiday pay?
Yes, Friday Services offers holiday pay to eligible employees. Registered workers must work for Friday’s for 1200 hours within a year, and work your scheduled workday before and after the holiday to become eligible for holiday pay. Holiday pay is for 8 hours at your current hourly rate at the assignment you are on. We pay holiday pay for:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Does Friday Services offer paid vacation benefits?
Yes, Friday Services does offer paid vacation benefits. If you work for us at least one year, and work the required number of hours, you will become eligible for a paid 1-week vacation (40 hours of paid time off. Once you’ve worked for Friday Services for two years, and complete the required number of hours you will be eligible for two weeks vacation (80 hours of paid time off). Your employee handbook will fully explain the current vacation pay policy and your Friday Services Representative will answer any questions you may have.
Do you offer referral bonuses?
Yes! Friday Services will pay a $25.00 referral bonus to anyone who hires someone who is hired by Friday’s and works an assignment for a full 40 hours or more. You can earn multiple bonuses! For each and every person you refer to our employment agency who has never been registered before, we will pay the $25.00 referral fee as soon as that person completes their first 40 hour shift.
Do you reward on the job safety?
Safety is very important to us! We award a Safe Worker Certificate to recognize employees who work 8 weeks and 160 hours without an on-the-job accident or injury. It is each employee’s responsibility to follow all safety rules and we reward employees who have a proven track record of working safely on the job.
