Principal Systems Software Engineer

Job Summary

The Principal Systems Software Engineer will be a member of a cross-functional core team, responsible for leading and supporting systems software engineering tasks.

They will serve as a technical lead on complex product development projects for Automated Test Systems and Software Defined Instruments. This person will be responsible for leading the design and development of novel integrated solutions for the client’s rapidly growing and evolving systems integration portfolio.

The Principal Systems Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, precision, and compliance with AS9100D or ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing system software engineering activities, from early phase development to market release.

  • Design or support the development of systems software architecture aligned with business and customer needs.

  • Execute multiple systems software engineering activities throughout the product development life cycle.

  • Apply critical thinking skills to solve complex software interaction problems.

  • Provide expertise in multiple roles in the product development life cycle, showcasing deep knowledge of system functionality.

  • Advise the project management team on key software product risk/benefit trade- offs.

  • Influence cross-functional peers to make timely decisions and recommendations for project success.

  • Represent the Engineering organization as the prime technical contact for assigned features, tools, or subject matters.

  • Provide input for submissions to regulatory bodies and governmental agencies.

  • Define hardware and software interface requirements between systems and maintain traceability of requirements documentation.

  • Manage changes to interfaces during development and throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Ensure configuration compatibility through the product lifecycle.

Education and Experience Required:

•   Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a concentration on RF electronics.

  • At least 10+ years relevant experience

  • Must be U.S. citizen. Proof of citizenship will be required at hire.
