Job Position: Healthcare Social Worker

Location: Black Mountain, NC 28711

Pay Rate: $25.00-$30/hr. DOE

Shift: 1st, 8:30a-5p Monday-Friday

Temporary (approx. 12-16 weeks) – Maternity leave coverage

Start: July 1st to allow for ~1 month of training.

Friday Services is seeking to fill a temporary Social Worker position in Black Mountain, NC. This temporary full-time role is essential to supporting the psychosocial well-being of residents in a senior care setting during a maternity leave coverage period. You will play a critical part in assessing residents’ social needs, coordinating admissions, advocating for their rights, and collaborating with the care team to ensure each resident receives personalized, high-quality care. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of older adults while working within a compassionate, multidisciplinary environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct social assessments and develop individualized care plans for each resident.

  • Coordinate admissions: manage wait list, pre‑admission interviews, tours, and paperwork.

  • Serve as an advocate for Residents’ Rights; resolve resident and family concerns.

  • Lead discharge planning and referrals to community resources.

  • Collaborate daily with the Health Center Administrator, Director of Nursing Services, and interdisciplinary Care Plan Team.

  • Maintain departmental policies, quality‑assurance initiatives, and budget tracking.

  • Participate in case management, ethics, and QA committees; contribute to campus‑wide meetings.

What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Social Work or related human‑services field (preferred).

  • Experience: At least 2 years working with older‑adult populations.

  • Licenses: Valid NC driver’s license with clear record for occasional facility‑vehicle use.

  • Skills & Traits: Resident‑focused, ethical, flexible, strong verbal/written communication, solid time‑management, and the ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, move intermittently throughout the shift, and assist residents safely.
