Sanitation Worker (Temporary Assignment)
We are hiring a Sanitation Worker for a temporary assignment covering an extended employee leave. This role could last anywhere from one month to several months, depending on business needs.
Pay: $16.50/hr
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible if needed)
Overtime: Some Fridays may be required
This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout a manufacturing facility, including production areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces, while following all safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities:
• Follow all safety, GMP, and HACCP guidelines
• Clean production areas, offices, restrooms, and facility spaces (interior and some exterior)
• Assist with deep/structural cleaning and rotation tasks
• Operate floor scrubbers and sanitation equipment
• Handle chemical, glass, and biohazard cleanup as needed
• Support food safety and regulatory compliance
• Assist higher-level sanitation technicians
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math, reading, and communication skills
• Previous food manufacturing experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and stay flexible with scheduling
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals, equipment, and scissor lifts
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors
• Frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, and reaching
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying temperatures
• Able to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
