Position Overview
We are hiring a Sheet Metal Machine Operator to join a leading manufacturer of custom HVAC systems in Candler, NC. This role supports the fabrication of sheet metal components used in air handling units.
This is a hands-on position that combines machine operation with physical production work—you’ll be actively involved in the full fabrication process, not just running a machine. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines, press brakes, and shears to fabricate sheet metal components
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production
Measure materials and perform basic calculations to ensure precision in cuts and bends
Load and unload materials into machines, ensuring proper alignment and safe operation
Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments as needed
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Work independently while meeting daily production goals
Collaborate with team members to support workflow and efficiency
Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE
Qualifications
Previous sheet metal or manufacturing experience preferred
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Ability to lift, stand, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Strong attention to detail and quality
