We are partnering with a mission-driven environmental services company to hire a Level II Biological Wastewater Operator in Columbus, NC. This is a direct hire opportunity offering flexibility in scheduling (20–40 hours/week – your choice!) and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. What You’ll Do
As a Biological Wastewater Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining safe and compliant plant operations. Responsibilities include:

Operate and maintain biological wastewater treatment systems within permit limits

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot treatment processes (pH, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, etc.)

Adjust and maintain chemical feed systems independently

Complete required reporting, including discharge monitoring reports

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

Collaborate with team members and leadership to improve plant performance

Respond to operational needs, including occasional off-hours or weekend work

Mentor and support less experienced operators when needed

Maintain accurate data using systems like Service Fusion or similar platforms
What You Bring
Required Qualifications

NC Grade II Biological Wastewater Operator License (or higher is acceptable)

At least 1+ year of wastewater operations experience

Strong understanding of biological treatment processes

Ability to troubleshoot systems independently

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and reporting systems)

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with scheduling or field service software

Familiarity with regulatory compliance and inspections
