POSITION REPORTS TO: President

DEPARTMENTS REPORTING TO the VP Production: Production, Purchasing, Safety, QA,

FLSA STATUS: Exempt – Management

BASIC FUNCTION:
Executive oversight for Production

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion safety in every department
Responsible for executive oversight of the Production, Purchasing, Safety, and QA teams
Develop short term and long term strategic goals, with milestones for production
Ensure production capacity is maximized
Work in conjunction with the VP Sales and Pre-construction to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
Assist in the development of “next generation” management
Develop and monitor budgets for Production
Executive level oversight to ensure all processes and procedures for all departments are followed and/or updated as needed
Serve as Executive in responsible charge for QMS system
Ensure best buying practices are being utuilized by the Purchasing Department
Review all accident and near miss investigation reports and assist Safety Leader in implementing best practices
Monitor project flow and provide guidance/assistance/recommendations, in order to best service both the company and the Customer
Monitor Production Scheduling in order to ensure all customer expectations are achieved
Oversee coordination of subcontract fabrication
Work directly with Director of Production to maximize shop loading
Develop short-term and long-term equipment needs and goals
Serve as back-up Manager in times of need for all departments that report to this position
Ensure all required communication, both internal and external, occurs within acceptable timeframes

Recommend opportunities for improvement
Responsible for other duties as assigned by President

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting, Bending, and Standing for long periods of time Physical ability to work and maneuver around work areas

QUALIFICATIONS:
Thorough understanding of Structural Steel Fabrication and Processes
Basic knowledge of financial statements and cost development
Minimum 5 years experience in Structural Steel Fabrication; 10 years preferred
Civil (Structural) Engineering Degree preferred
Ability to multi-task with timely achievement of goals and milestones
Demonstrated successful management experience
Professional written and oral communication skills, as well as computer skills are required Valid Driver’s License
