The Shipping and Logistics Manager oversees the efficient and timely movement of finished products and supplies within the beverage manufacturing company’s supply chain. This role involves coordinating transportation with carriers and other logistics providers, managing inventory levels to ensure that products are available to customers when needed, optimizing warehouse operations to maximize efficiency and productivity, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the transportation and storage of goods.

Your job duties will include:

  • Supply Chain Coordination: Work with production, procurement, and sales teams to develop and maintain a seamless supply chain process. Plan and manage the transportation of raw materials to production facilities and finished products to distribution centers or customers. Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

  • Transportation/Fleet Management: Arrange and coordinate transportation methods, including trucking, shipping, and air freight, to ensure timely delivery of goods. Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize transportation costs. Track shipments, monitor delivery progress, and address any issues that may arise during transit.

  • Warehouse and Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products in warehouses and distribution centers. Implement inventory control practices to ensure accuracy, minimize discrepancies, and prevent inventory shrinkage. Optimize warehouse layout and operations to enhance efficiency and streamline order fulfillment processes.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with local, regional, and international regulations related to shipping, customs, and logistics. Ensure all shipments are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of shipping and logistics operations. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage a team of logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and shipping personnel. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure their professional growth and effective performance.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure a smooth flow of information and resolve any issues promptly. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to align logistics strategies with broader company goals.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus 5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in the beverage or manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping.

  • Proficiency in logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Analytical mindset for making data-driven decisions.
