Job Summary: As a Receiving Associate, you will play a critical role in our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying the contents against purchase orders, and ensuring that all goods are properly documented and stored. While previous receiving experience is preferred, we are also open to candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments, including checking the quantity and quality of items against purchase orders and ensuring their accuracy.
Verify that shipments are properly labeled, packaged, and in compliance with company standards.
Document all incoming shipments accurately and complete necessary paperwork or electronic records.
Unload and unpack shipments, ensuring careful handling of fragile or sensitive items.
Collaborate with other departments, such as inventory control and purchasing, to resolve any discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments.
Organize and store received goods in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory rotation and adherence to storage protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the receiving area, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliation as needed.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a secure and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in receiving or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately match incoming shipments with purchase orders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items, as well as to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems are a plus.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing processes and procedures.
