Job Position: Production Supervisor

Location: Mills River, NC 28759

Pay Rate: $25.00

Shift: Night 7pm-7am (2-2-3)

SUMMARY: The Night Shift Production Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Lead production team in the manufacturing process, meeting quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

1.1 Enforces safety and sanitation regulations.

1.2 Directs and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as inspectors, machine setters, or fabricators.

1.3 Follows direction of Day Shift to coordinate and supervise operations and activities within or between departments.

1.4 Plans and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

1.5 Schedules work hours and time spent on site to support Night Shift Team Leads as needed throughout each week to constitute a 40-hour workweek. 

1.6 Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

1.7 Performs accident investigations.

1.8 Able to effectively communicate with company support team.

2. Assist in ensuring compliance and employee engagement.

2.1 Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.

2.2 Tracks absenteeism and timekeeping.

2.3 Works on the production floor alongside the team to perform timely and efficient change overs.

3. Direct production operator’s training and development.

3.1   Assists in conducting employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.

3.2   Assists with implementation of training programs and ensure success of on-the-job training.

Education and/or Experience: 

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• Generally 3 – 5 years’ experience in production environment

• Previous quality management experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Duties may be performed in an indoor or outdoor setting. The employee will be required to travel to various sites. Must be able to work weekends and evenings as required. The noise level in the work environment is frequently moderate to loud. The employee may further be required to:

• Stand and be on feet for 6-8 hours.

• Lift a maximum of 50 pounds

• Ability to squat and work at 1-3 ft height for extended periods. 

• Utilize Material Handling Equipment.

• Work in non-temperature controlled environments.
