Black Mountain, NC – 10:30am–7:30pm (one weekend day required)
Full-Time

Pay Rate: $20.00/hr

Friday Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced and passionate Line Cook on behalf of our client, a premier continuing care retirement community in Black Mountain. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art kitchen alongside a knowledgeable and supportive culinary team focused on high-quality, from-scratch cooking.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook meals for residents, guests, and staff with an emphasis on quality and presentation
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to review menus, recipes, and daily prep needs
• Maintain proper cooking schedules to ensure food is served fresh and at peak quality
• Assist with catering preparation and special events on campus
• Support an elevated fine dining experience for residents
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and kitchen safety standards
• Complete additional kitchen duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:
• Minimum of 6 months of food service or line cook experience
• Strong understanding of food preparation methods and cooking techniques
• Experience with grill, sauté, sauces, soups, and meat/fish preparation preferred
• Knowledge of proper cooking temperatures, food yields, and portioning
• Ability to prepare meals in an appealing and appetizing manner
• Understanding of sanitation and food safety practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
