Job Position: Filler Operator
Location: Hendersonville, NC 28792
Pay Rate: $21.50/hr
Shift: 2nd shift 2pm to 10:30pm w/OT mandatory on Saturday
We are looking for a meticulous Filler Operator I for our Hendersonville, NC location. This role involves managing one production line filler, ensuring product quality and safety, and minimizing material loss. The operator may also be tasked with operating the Blow Molder.
Key Responsibilities:
Transfer juice from the run tank to the filler, maintain accurate temperature control records, and ensure compliance with Critical Control Points (CQP) during the production process.
Efficiently operate filler equipment to optimize production-line uptime.
Monitor bottle flow from the depalletizing area, clear jams, and report mechanical issues to maintenance.
Retrieve and load bottle caps into the cap hopper.
Adjust bottle filler speed to maintain proper workflow along the production line.
Perform minor equipment adjustments to ensure smooth operation.
Conduct packaging changeovers by adjusting rails, swapping out change parts, and timing adjustments.
Sample product at the start of each run to ensure it meets quality standards.
Retrieve product specifications from the “Processing Guide” and conduct quality tests using lab equipment.
Assist in inventory verification and maintain accurate records of bottle waste, cap usage, and product waste.
Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
Perform and document water and chemical washes at the pasteurizer, filler, and support tanks.
Monitor and adjust pasteurizer and fill-tank temperatures and product flow rates to meet specifications.
Record all changes and reasons for variations during production on temperature charts.
Ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Notify management of potential food safety issues.
Follow all SQF requirements and work with supervision to resolve food safety and quality issues.
Participate in taste testing products as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned efficiently to optimize production-line run time
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a production setting, including frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Occasional squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder height.
Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry tasks using the LOTO program.
Must have good vision and hearing, with or without correction, to detect obstacles and potential dangers in a high-speed production environment.
