Are you a North Carolina BBQ Guru? Our local North Asheville-based BBQ restaurant client needs your help in filling a *Direct Hire* Culinary/Kitchen Manager position.

This position is full time and provides opportunities for promotion and career development. The Culinary/Kitchen Manager is a leader within the restaurant team and is ultimately responsible for delivering success. The manager is responsible for balancing needs of the kitchen team, guests, community, and ownership.
Responsibilities as the Culinary/Kitchen Manager:
- Run BOH operations
- Act as a leader, present professionally and with a positive attitude
- Willing to work any position they are supervising
- Willingness and interest in growing with the company
- Ability to learn the menu and display passion for NC style BBQ
- Ability to provide Grade A hospitality when interacting with guests and team
- Ability to nurture a team culture and constant ongoing training + continuous improvement
- Ability to advocate for the Asheville community and lifestyle
- Bring personality and positive energy to the restaurant daily
- Technical expertise in kitchen operations, culinary operations, food production, food cost control, and sanitation
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in an exemplary fashion
- Good financial acumen – ability to write annual financial budges and review financial performance daily and weekly
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess at least 90% of the following:
- 4 year degree in business, preferably hospitality management or culinary arts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Adequate computer skills and the ability to learn a new computer application quickly and follow the standards associated with it
- Above average knowledge of food, craft beer, and spirits
- Integrity, honesty, accountability, a passion for excellence and an incapability of making excuses for anything less than excellence
- A natural surplus of hospitality extended to guests, employees and vendors no matter the circumstances
- Involvement in the community
- Attentive focus on details and a compulsive desire to make even the smallest details perfect

Physical/Mental Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
- The employee is required to be on foot for a large portion of the day/shift.
- The employee is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger,handle or feel tools or controls; must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects including tables and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead
- When performing office functions, will be required to sit and work directly on a computer for several hours at time
- Must be able to sustain constant mental and visual attention
