Job Position: 24/7 Technical Support Engineer-PLC

Location: Arden, NC 28704

JOB PURPOSE:

The 24/7 Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting and programming. The 24/7 Technical Support Engineer diagnoses, resolves and documents technical problems for remote and on-site users.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Tests, troubleshoots and supports PLC’s for automated warehouse picking systems • Becomes a subject matter expert on the use of the product • Travels onsite during startups to complete installation and help train customers • Diagnoses, resolves, and documents technical problems • Uses ticketing tools available, documents each instance of service intervention for record keeping purposes • Coordinates timely service and repair of equipment • Ensures the client receives a superior technical support experience by communicating and listening attentively and responding appropriately to client concerns • Will rotate shifts and will be required an on-call weekend every 6th week • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • Minimum Associate degree in Engineering or related field • 2+ years’ experience in programming • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team member • Proven ability to accurately troubleshoot electrical and software systems • Ability to work well independently to complete all specific responsibilities with minimal supervision • Travel is up to 10%
